ABOUT | TOPIC
The topic of “Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide: The Right to a Dignified Death” has been a controversial issue worldwide for years. While some argue that individuals have the right to end their life on their own terms, others believe that it goes against the sanctity of life. In this WHO committee, delegates will discuss the legal, ethical, and moral implications of euthanasia and assisted suicide. They will also examine how different cultural and religious beliefs influence attitudes towards end-of-life care. The goal is to find a balance between preserving life and respecting an individual's autonomy and right to a dignified death.

Hugo Kleinjan
Hi there! I'm Hugo, one of the chairs for the WHO committee at MaMUN 2023, and a 10 year veteran of MUN - I just can't seem to stop ;) I am doing a Master's degree at the University of St. Gallen, am a trainee at the European Parliament, and have lived in nine countries. Beyond that, I enjoy painting, skiing, hiking, and, for a lack of better description, have an unhealthy obsession with the Tolkien universe. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Mannheim!
